JOB TITLE: Heavy Equipment Mechanic
LOCATION: Dallas
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical on heavy machinery
Prevent breakdowns in heavy equipment by conducting preventive maintenance and repairs
Perform repairs on hydraulic and electrical systems
Follow manufacturer’s directions for basic repair and maintenance
Check integrity of equipment
Responsible for accuracy on all paperwork, including equipment repair/maintenance documentation; work
orders etc.
Understand and adhere to Company policies, procedures, rules and regulations
All other duties as assigned
Essential Functions
High mechanical aptitude
Working knowledge of servicing and repairing heavy equipment
Understanding of electrical and hydraulic theory
Reading and comprehending hydraulic and wiring schematics
Demonstrate safe work practices and attitude
Possess the ability to work without direct supervision
Ability to twist/turn, reach over shoulders, squat and stand/walk on a continual basis
Ability to lift, carry, push and pull 50+ pounds several times per day
Ability to climb over and into heavy equipment several times per day
Reading/writing ability and math skills to accurately complete paperwork

Excellent time management, organizational and multi‐tasking skills

3+ years mechanical experience with heavy construction equipment or related heavy equipment
Technical educational background in diesel mechanic or related area
Proficient computer skills
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of a certification program focused on heavy equipment maintenance and repair

Job Duties
Perform service repairs in the field.
May have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of units from small fleet vehicles, Class 8
trucks/trailers, equipment, and large mining machines.
Provide field support to other field mechanics with maintenance or equipment repairs.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair various equipment/assets.
Maintain equipment repair logs in A&O software program
Maintain a service vehicle and its inventory.
Process paperwork after completion of each job
Work closely with Shop Manager.
Keep work area and equipment in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
Perform duties and operate equipment in a safe and satisfactory manner.
Alert Supervisor of any major repairs needed or other concerns.
Obtain wide variety of manufacture certifications (Cummins, Deutz, Liugong, Merlo and Airman
etc.)
Utilize computer diagnostic systems on numerous makes and models of rental, construction, and
oil field equipment.

Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
2+ years of experience repairing/maintaining construction and rental equipment
2+ years of in the field experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting
Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
Knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
Must own tools applicable to position
Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills

Job Duties
Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental
and customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment
When required, travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment
Must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
Assist in the training of lower-level technicians as needed
Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely
manner daily
Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
Other duties assigned as needed
This is a entry level position to computer diagnostic systems and manufacture certifications courses (training
will be provided)
